One big EggLife is so not fair in so many ways. Why is one person rich or one person poor? Why does the person with curly hair want straight hair and vice versa? We as human beings can gripe and complain all we want that one person has more than another. We could get into the politics of welfare, taxation, and social economics, but that is not our purpose.

Take a look at the picture. The middle is a decent sized "normal" egg for my chickens.

The right is a mini that looked like it took no effort at all. If fact eggs this size tend to be called "fart" eggs, which needs no explanation. Although this little mini was not an infamous fart egg, but actually had a yoke inside. The whole egg was a little larger than a quarter. I wonder if the other hens laughed at the small size or it just fell out as one was running. (We found it in the middle of the yard.)

The egg on the left was over 9 cm, just shy of the world record being held at 9.4 cm. I do not know which hen had a really rough day, but we have gotten several of these 7-9 cm eggs in the last few months so she must be working hard. If one goes on strike, I will understand.

So the next time, life gives you a humongous egg, that you do not think you will survive, bear down and achieve something great from your efforts -- Do I hear the call for omelets all around?

Cherie Pugh Hi Ronna,
I really needed to read this today! Thank You!
About to embark on a solution for one of my self created disasters, and will now consider it to be just an extra large egg!
Cheers!
Cherie
